Board Member – Jim Garner
Jim has lived in Eugene/Springfield the past 50 years, graduating from Sheldon HS and attending the U of O majoring in Business. He spent the last 30+ years working in credit unions in a variety of positions including Teller, ATM Coordinator Operations Manager, Compliance Officer and 10+ years as Internal Auditor. Though now retired, he continues to perform a couple of audits for the credit union he retired from and is a member of the SELCO Supervisory Committee which acts as an independent & representing the members interests by ensuring the institution is financially sound and following proper regulations.
Jim has participated in sports all his life including softball, basketball, volleyball, and golf. He even met his wife of over 35 years, Darla, on the softball field. As with many pickleball players, he and Darla came to learn about the game with the funny name during Covid. They were introduced to pickleball in February 2020 and became avid players by June of that year. “Pickleball has introduced many more people into our lives than we could have otherwise and allowed us to make some very good friends along the way.”
